Kargil-Zanskar road reopened for vehicular traffic

Kargil :
The snow clearance
from Kargil–Zanskar road has been completed and the road has been thrown open
for light vehicle with effect from today onwards. The report was given to
Punchok Tashi, Executive Councilor for Tourism, Health and Zanskar Affairs during
his visit to Suru valley today. He has appreciated the efforts of Mechanical
Division Kargil and the bulldozer operators for clearing the 234km long road in
the shortest possible time. The road has remained closed for five months of the
winter season (mid-November to mid-April). With the reopening of Kargil-Zanskar
road the essential supply to Zanskar will be restored.
