Indus Batalik-A wins Aryan Cup archery tournament

Batalik :

Indus Batalik-A lifted Aryan Cup Archery trophy by beating Vishal Banjo Gargardoo-A on March 14 in Batalik. 

The Aryan Cup Archery Tournament was held at Batalik and a total of 24 teams participated.

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan who is also the Councillor of Silmoo constituency said that a mega cultural event is being organized in Silmoo Constituency to display the culture and lifestyle of the whole belt of Silmoo.

He appreciated the archers for their remarkable display of Archery skills and also congratulated the organizers for a well-organized tournament.

CEC Feroz Khan urged the people of the constituency to increase the role of students in Government schools so that further development of higher education in the area is made possible. He said that Archery will be introduced in the next interschool competitions. 

He said that after the establishment of Union Territory, youths of Ladakh are getting huge opportunities in different games and our kids must come forward in games such as Ice Hockey. He added that in Lalung 2 ice hockey rinks are being constructed and after their completion, it is hoped that during the next season Ice Ski training and tournament will be organized there.

Khan informed that several developmental activities of the Silmoo Constituency are in progress which includes among others the works to connect the constituency with hydropower by July 2021.

Responding to various issues and demands projected by the locals, he said that all demands including the provision of a critical care ambulance, additional staff in health centers in the area which will comprise a Dental Surgeon and Nurse are being taken up for suitable follow up.

He further added that to promote cultural activities in the area an Auditorium is being constructed in Darchiks and about the major demand of making Batalik a block, he said that whenever the UT Administration sanctions the new administrative blocks, demand would be projected to keep the area on the priority list.

Chief Medical Officer, Kargil, Dr. Munawar Hussain Wazir; District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kargil, Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma; In Charge Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Silmoo, Nawang Sherap; Sarpanch Batalik Muhammad Raza and a good number of Archery lovers and locals were present on the occasion.
