District Kargil Olympic Association meets L-G Mathur

Mirza Hussain, President District Kargil Olympic Association met Lieutenant Governor, R K Mathur on January 11 at Raj Niwas.
 
Mirza Hussain requested for a Sports Policy for Ladakh and the opening of an international level high altitude training centre with a hostel facility in Kargil considering the huge scope of adventure and winter sports in Kargil. 

A copy of memorandum highlighting important issues including job reservation and admission in colleges under sports quota, construction of all-weather international standard Ice Hockey rink, sports stadium, archery stadium, cricket stadium, river rafting and other adventure sports focusing particularly on developing and promoting winter sports in Kargil was submitted. They also requested for improvements in institutional structure in sports.  
 
Acknowledging the significant scope of adventure and winter sports in Kargil, the Lt. Governor gave assurance to take up the issues with concerned authorities for due consideration.
