A mini-marathon, themed, 'Catch Them Young' was organised under the aegis of the Trishul Division under two categories in the age group of 10-13 and 14-17 at Tangtse on June 7.
93 children from the Middle and Higher Secondary Schools of Tangtse took part in the 5 km long mini-marathon.
The mini-marathon was organised to give an impetus to the national vision of 'Fit India' and to identify young talents from Eastern Ladakh.
The event was marked by the presence of civil dignitaries including the Zonal Education Officer, SD, Tehsildar, SHO, and Block Development Officer among others. Winners in each category were felicitated and rewarded with medals and certificates.
Indian Army along with its primary aim of safeguarding the national borders also aims at the welfare and wellbeing of the people of Ladakh.
The Final Trishul Mini Marathon will be organised in Kharu on 21 June.
