5-day-long adventure course conducted for students in Leh

Leh :

A total of 20 students including 11 boys and 9 girls of Jamyang School, Leh participated in the adventure course at Ladakh Mountaineering & Adventure Club’s Veer Savarkar Institute of Mountaineering and Search & Rescue site, Shey from October 27 till 31.

The five-day-long course was organised by Ladakh Mountaineering and Adventure Club (LMAC) in association with Swantantrayaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak (SSRS), Mumbai.
 
Tsering Tashi, District Youth Services & Sports Officer; Manoj G Nair, an experienced mountaineer from Mumbai (representative of SSRS); Geyshes Tsultim Tharchen, Principal, Jamyang School; Everest climbers from Ladakh; Members of Ladakh Mountaineering & Adventure Club; faculty members and students were present during the concluding day.
 
Sonam Wangyal who climbed Mount Everest in 1965 shared his experiences and achievements.

Urgain Lhundup, Secretary, LMAC highlighted the achievements of LMAC during the last 27 years of his life as the Secretary of LMAC. 
 
He also gave a presentation on the plan for having a mountaineering institute at Shey.
