World TB Day celebrated in Kargil

On World Tuberculosis Day, an awareness programme was organised by District Health Society, Kargil on March 24 at Auditorium Hall, Kargil.
 
Expert doctors from Health department, students and other speakers talked about the several aspects of the disease.

Muhammad Hussain, EC, Health highlighted the need to adopt proactive measures for controlling diseases like TB and talked about various programmes initiated by the Hill Council to eradicate TB from the district. 

He appealed the people to give utmost importance to sanitation. 

Dr. Ibrahim Khan, Chief Medical Officer, Kargil, Dr. Fatima Nissa , District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Murtaza Ali, Physician specialist, students of AMT school and Girls Higher Secondary School, Kargil spoke about the history, causes, symptoms, medical treatment and prevention of TB.

World TB Day is celebrated on March 24 each year with an aim to raise awareness about the burden of tuberculosis (TB) worldwide including the status of TB prevention and care efforts. The theme for World TB Day 2018 is “Wanted: Leaders for a TB-Free World”.
