A Training of Trainers (ToT) programme for the Survey on Substance Use Among Children and Youth in the Union Territory of Ladakh commenced on August 3 under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme is being organised by the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with the Education Department, Health Department, and Police Department.

The inaugural session was addressed by Dr. Murtaza, who underscored the importance of collective efforts in tackling substance abuse among children and youth. The programme was formally inaugurated by Agha Syed Abdullah Shah, Resource Person at DIET Kargil.

Around 250 teachers from across Kargil district participated in the training programme. The initiative aims to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to support the survey, raise awareness, and contribute to the prevention of substance abuse among children and young people.

The Training of Trainers programme forms part of the UT Administration's ongoing efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to build a drug-free society through capacity building, awareness generation, and evidence-based interventions.
