The District Election Office, Leh, conducted a week-long training programme for Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and BLO Supervisors across various blocks of Leh district as part of the preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 in Leh and Nubra.
Held from November 3 to 7, the programme aimed to strengthen the electoral machinery and ensure accuracy, inclusiveness, and transparency in the electoral rolls.
The first session, conducted on November 3, focused on participants from the Durbuk and Nyoma blocks. The training included hands-on exercises in mapping, self-progeny verification, and the use of the BLO App for real-time data management.
On November 4, sessions were organized in two parts —Session I for Leh & Saspol, and Session II for Khaltsi & Kharu — held at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Leh.
Facilitated by Aftikar Ali, Tsewang Dolma, Sonam Chorol, and Chozin Palmo, these sessions focused on clarifying the roles of Booth Level Agents (BLAs), resolving BLO App-related issues, and strengthening participants’ understanding of field-level duties under SIR 2025.
The training continued on November 6 and 7 at Diskit and Sumoor, respectively, led by Stanzin Spaldon and Sumera Kosar. These sessions equipped field functionaries with the skills and knowledge required to effectively carry out voter verification, inclusion, and correction drives in their respective areas.
