Three landmark agri-missions launched by PM Modi; Kargil farmers attend telecast

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched three landmark agricultural missions — PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, National Dalhan Mission, and the National Mission on Natural Farming — during a grand event held at Bharatratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi on October 11.
In Kargil, the event was witnessed live by progressive farmers, Self Help Group (SHG) members, and agriculture department staff at the Farmers' Training Hall, Kurbathang, where the Prime Minister’s address was telecast. A total of 152 participants, including farmers and officials, attended the program, gaining insights into the vision and objectives of the newly launched schemes aimed at sustainable and inclusive growth in agriculture.
As part of the celebrations, a field visit and on-farm training programme was organized under the National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology (ATMA). Farmers were taken to key agricultural institutions and demonstration units in Kargil, including, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Campus, Kargil; SM Farm, Kurbathang; Mushroom Production Unit, Kurbathang; School of Agriculture, Kurbathang, Kargil.
The on-site exposure offered valuable insights into modern agricultural practices, natural farming techniques, and innovations in pulse production and value addition. The field training also encouraged farmers to adopt sustainable farming methods and actively participate in government programmes.
The Department of Agriculture, Kargil, expressed gratitude to all participating farmers and stakeholders for making the event successful and reaffirmed its commitment to support the farming community in aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision for the agriculture sector.
