Three-day mega health fest commences in Diskit

Three-days long mega health fest organised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI, and National Health Mission, UT Ladakh commenced at Mini Stadium, Diskit, Nubra on July 20.

The mega health fest was inaugurated by Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh, Tsering Angchuk in presence of Councillor Hunder, Kunzang Lotus; Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, G A Raghuvanshi. 

Mission Director, National Health Mission, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad; Director, Health Services, Dr. Dorjey Motup; Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Dr. Nurzin Angmo; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nubra; Elected representatives of Block Development Councils; Head of various departments of the sub-division and other concerned officers/officials and the public were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk expressed gratitude towards MoHFW and NHM Ladakh, the Health Department, and all its workers for organising a mega health fest in the Nubra sub-division. He urged the public to avail of various health services provided in the health fest and also appealed to the public to take advantage of the health schemes of the central government.

Around 24 stalls offering different health services are installed for the three-day health fest. It includes yoga and fitness, ABHA health card, Covid-19 vaccination, tuberculosis awareness, free diagnosis, and counseling services.

The health fest is open for all with no entry charges.
