The Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC), Zanskar, convened a crucial meeting on May 2 to address a series of public grievances related to civic infrastructure and essential services, following complaints received by the Chairman of TLSC.
Held under the aegis of TLSC, the meeting brought together Heads of Departments and representatives from key sectors to collaboratively discuss and resolve community concerns.
Present at the meeting were the In-Charge SDM, Junior Engineers from PWD, PDD, and R&B, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Block Development Officer (BDO), Station House Officer (SHO), and Presidents of the Zanskar Buddhist Association (ZBA) and Merchant Association, among others.

In response, In-Charge SDM assured immediate steps to identify and develop designated private parking areas. The BDO committed to deploying a garbage dumping truck daily to improve sanitation. The R&B Department pledged to expedite pending works under the Jal Jeevan Mission for timely delivery of safe drinking water and the PDD promised to fence the exposed electrical transformer as a public safety measure.
The Presidents of ZBA and the Merchant Association extended their full support in maintaining cleanliness and civic discipline in the market area.
The Chairman of TLSC emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and active public participation in resolving community issues. The meeting concluded with firm commitments from all stakeholders to act promptly and ensure sustained responsiveness to public needs.
