TB Mukt Bharat 100-day campaign conducted at Udmaru, Nubra
The "Jan Jan Rakhe Dhyan – TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" 100-day campaign was successfully conducted at Udmaru, Nubra, on July 25 to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB), promote early detection and ensure timely treatment in support of the vision of a TB-Free Nubra.
A key highlight of the campaign was the use of portable X-ray screening, which enabled on-the-spot examinations and the early identification of suspected TB cases. The initiative made screening more accessible, particularly for vulnerable populations living in remote villages, and encouraged more people to undergo testing.
The campaign received strong support from the Goba, whose active participation contributed significantly to its success. The awareness drive promoted timely health-seeking behaviour, enhanced public understanding of tuberculosis and strengthened ongoing efforts towards the elimination of the disease.
A total of 79 people, including 27 males and 52 females, participated in the campaign. During the screening, 21 sputum samples were referred for CBNAAT testing for further diagnosis.
The successful implementation of the campaign marks another important step towards achieving the goal of a TB-Free Nubra through early diagnosis, timely treatment and active community participation.
