Students, schools felicitated for participating in various activities of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

A prize distribution program was organized on November 24 by Rural Dev. Dept. Leh to facilitate the students and schools who participated in various activities of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Lotsawa Rinchen Auditorium Hall Culture Academy, Leh on November 24. 

CEC, Dr. Dawa added that we are very lucky to begin the cleanliness drive with the blessings of His Holiness the  Dalai Lama in the month of August,2016 which later spread across Ladakh. 

He also mentioned about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive which was lead by Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir State Dr. Nirmal Singh from Khardongla Pass (18380 Feet) on 19th Sept. 2016. 

He said that Rural Department plays a very important role in the development of rural villages and is known for their efficacy in providing quality service with least funds.
To achieve the dream of Nirmal Bharat by 2019 which is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Dawa said that Council is working on a comprehensive plan to run the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan in 2017. 

In painting competition which was held in the month of September,  Stanzin Dojey of Lamdon Senior Secondary School Leh bagged first while Yangchen Dolker of JNV Leh bagged the second position  and Zilder Hussain of Imamia Mission School Chushot bagged the third position . 

In speech competition, Jigmet Rinchen of Polytechnic College Leh bagged first position, Sonam Diskit of Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh bagged second and Tashi Wangchuk of CIBS Choglamsar bagged third positions.  

In play category, Govt. Higher Secondary School Chushot stood first while as Lamdon Senior Secondary School Leh and High School Sumoor Nubra clinched second and third positions respectively. 
Sponsored by Municipal Committee Leh, the individual winners were given Laptops and schools were awarded Projectors as a prize. 

The District Panchayat Officer Leh Sonam Chosjor gave the welcome speech while as BDO, Rural Dev. Dept. Leh Tsering Angchuk gave the vote of thanks.
