Social and Tribal Welfare Department gives financial assistance under Rewa Scheme Invites applications from successful candidates who have cleared Civil Services Examination (prelims) 2021

Social and Tribal Welfare Department invites applications from successful candidates who have cleared Civil Services Examination (prelims) 2021 for financial assistance under Rewa Scheme. 
 
The scheme, REWA: Lt Governor's Student Support Initiative (Financial Assistance to meritorious students of UT of Ladakh), offers financial assistance to meritorious students of Ladakh to avail coaching facilities for various competitive examinations. 'Rewa Scheme' was launched by Lt Governor, RK Mathur in June 2021. 
 
The students clearing Prelims of civil services exams, Indian Engineering Services, and Indian Forest Service exams will be given financial assistance of up to Rs. 1.54 lakhs under the scheme. This includes coaching fee reimbursement of Rs. 1 lakh and expenditure onboarding/ lodging up to Rs. 54,000/- (at the rate of Rs. 3,000/- per month for 18 months). 
 
The scheme offers financial assistance up to Rs. 1 lakh to the meritorious students of class 10th and 12th to take up coaching to appear for NEET, JEE, UG CLAT, and NDA exams. 
 
The objective is to encourage the meritorious students of Ladakh to appear in the National Level Entrance examination (NEET, JEE, NDA, UG CLAT) for seeking admissions to the reputed institutions of India and to encourage those students who qualify for the Preliminary examination of the National Level Competitive Examinations conducted by UPSC viz Civil Services, Indian Forest Service and Indian Engineering Services.
 
The scheme applies to examinations conducted on or after October 1, 2021.
