Secretary, Power Development Department reviews work progress Stresses to ensure uninterrupted power supply and expedite the pace of work

Secretary, PDD Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar reviewed the pace of progress on the status of ongoing/ new work; SDP/ State/ Changthang Development package (physical & financial progress); status of priority works, expenditure by the end of the first quarter and anticipated expenses by the second quarter achieved by the PDD Department on July 27.

Taking note of the progress of the work, Secretary Power reviewed the physical and financial status of ongoing work of the first quarter. There was discussion on the ongoing and new SDP, AA cost with AA status, allotment cost, outlay, release, expenditure of financial year under the PDD Department's SDP for the year 2021-22.

 Chief Engineer, PDD Ladakh, GA Mir apprised Secretary Power of the current status, including 11 kV/LT line, augmentation of sub-station, creation of new sub-stations, improvement, underground cabling, civil work, sub-transmission division, construction of SBA quarter; 66kV bay augmentation, blacktopping of approach road to the receiving station, etc.

The PDD officers were asked to give a quarterly progress report and asked the officers to process tendering and allot the work immediately. He further impressed upon the officials to prioritize the procurement of safety equipment for the PDD employees. He further directed the Chief Engineer PDD to complete the construction works of the Zanskar area by September 2021 and clear all regular bills related to this work up to 30 August 2021. 

The concerned officials were also asked to book expenditure for DG sheds at Leh and the renovation of DG stations in Zanskar. 

Secretary Power highlighted few points, including the need for attention to the booked expenses in the first quarter, no revision of the estimated expenses without the expenditure of the concerned department, preparing an action plan for the second quarter of expenditure order to meet the target and submitting the bills and expenditure booking by the department before the last date. He also highlighted that there should not be a lapse of funds and responsibilities of DDOs. 

He directed the concerned officials to prepare the components/schemes of the revised estimate for 2021-22 and the budget estimate for 2022-23 by October 2021. He further directed the departmental divisions to complete the plans, review and monitor the expenses regularly. 

The Secretary Power and Advisor Ladakh will hold a monthly review meeting. It was informed that the APRs of the officials/DDOs would be reviewed based on the expenditure mentioned in the plan.
