Secretary, Social and Tribal Welfare Department, Padma Angmo visited Khaltse and Likir sub-division on February 1 and reviewed the functioning of Anganwadi Centre under ICDS.

She inspected various Anganwadi Centres at Saspol, Uleytokpo, Nurla, Khaltse, Domkhar Dho and also visited the ICDS office at Khaltse.

Secretary, Padma Angmo emphasized on regular updating of data of beneficiaries on Poshan Tracker app and monitoring of malnourished children if any. She reviewed the infrastructure at the Anganwadi centres and directed the DPO to give proposals for repair and upgradation wherever required. She also directed for capacity building of all Anganwadi workers in February and also reviewed the status of payment of honorarium and rent of privately owned centers and expressed satisfaction that both payments were up to date.

On the second day of the tour, she inspected Anganwadi centers at Lasthang, Sanith Dho, Hanu Yokma, Hanu Gongma, Achinathang and Takmachik. She also visited the site of Auditorium Hall at Khaltse along with the SDM, Khaltse. District Programme Officer Leh, Tsering Paldan; CDPO Khaltse, Dr. Siraj ud Din; Supervisors and all concerned officials of ICDS office Khaltse were present during the tour.

ICDS provides nutritional needs, pre-school education, primary healthcare, immunization, and health checkup and referral services to children under 06 years of age and their mothers. ICDS is one of the largest integrated families and community welfare schemes in the world.
