The cloudburst was reported on the night of July 24, 2022, at about 11 p.m. which caused flash floods. The team of officers observed that the road from Yokma Kharboo to Shakar was blocked at a few gorges which were restored for vehicular movement. Also, two flood-affected families were directed to shift to the guest house of Shakar.

The main road at Shakar has been blocked at many places within a 2 to 3 km stretch while the PMGSY is on job to restore the same and hopefully it would be connected soon. It was informed that the agricultural land has also come under debris while the revenue staff has noted all the damages to the crop.

The PHE department has been directed to restore the water source for Chumuk Chan Mohalla populace on priority, which was also damaged due to the cover of the main water reservoir. AE PDD has been directed to strengthen the electric lines in one place. I&FC Department has been directed to remove debris from Mohalla Hadika and restore the Nallah which is currently completely covered by boulders.

Ration may be provided to the families, whose houses have been fully damaged by the flood, after approval from Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil.
