Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sankoo, Waseem Ramzan Dar (JKAS), on July 17 conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed 220 KV Transmission Tower (Tower No. 220A) installation site, where work had remained stalled for the past four years due to unresolved issues.

The inspection was attended by all concerned stakeholders, including the executing agencies and the affected landowner. Through constructive dialogue and mutual consultation, the SDM addressed the concerns of the landowner, built consensus among all parties, and facilitated an amicable resolution to the long-pending dispute.

During the visit, the issue relating to the road alignment passing adjacent to the proposed tower site was also examined. The conflict between the road project and the transmission tower alignment was resolved on the spot, clearing obstacles that had delayed both infrastructure projects.
Following the resolution, the SDM directed the executing agencies to immediately resume the pending works, stating that all impediments had been removed.

The intervention reflects the Kargil district administration's commitment, under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner, to resolving public issues through dialogue, ensuring the timely execution of critical infrastructure projects, and safeguarding the interests of all stakeholders.
