Rakesh Kumar takes charge as new Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil

Rakesh Kumar, IAS (2021 batch, AGMUT cadre), formally assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner/CEO of LAHDC, Kargil on June 19, succeeding outgoing DC Shrikant Balasaheb Suse.

The handover took place in the DC Office Chamber in the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Ram R, Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, and other senior officers and officials.

During the brief ceremony, Shrikant Suse, who served as DC Kargil for the past two years, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the LAHDC Kargil, UT Administration, and all district-level officers for their unwavering support during his tenure. He acknowledged the instrumental role played by the staff of the DC Office, the district administration, and Kargil police in implementing developmental projects and addressing public grievances. He also extended his sincere thanks to the people of Kargil for their trust and cooperation.

In his first address as DC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar emphasized his commitment to serve the people of Kargil with dedication, transparency, and responsibility. He pledged to continue the good governance practices established by his predecessor and to work in close coordination with the LAHDC and all departments.

Hailing from Rajasthan, Rakesh Kumar previously served as Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hiranagar in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Also present at the occasion were Additional SP Nitin Yadav, Joint Director (Finance) Iftikhar Hussain, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Jahangeer Akhone, Joint Director (Planning) Abdul Hadi, Headquarter Assistant to DC Kaneez Fatima, District Panchayat Officer Raziya Khatoon, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Arifa Iqbal Lone, along with other officials of the district administration.
