Public Park worth 67.84 lakh inaugurated at Diskitsal

A public park covering six and a half kanal of land in Leh was inaugurated by Minister for Cooperatives & Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorje at Housing Colony, Leh on November 2. 

Construction Division PWD, Leh is the executing agency and the park is completed at an estimated cost of ₹ 67.84 lakh funded under H&UDD and AMRUT. 

Minister Chering Dorje, said that making this park in Diskitsal is like having it in the entire district because people from all part of Ladakh are residing in this colony. He said that there is no shortage of money and gave assurance to get the extension of the park till the end of Diskitsal in the next season.

He also recounted the facilities like road, drainage, sewerage, drinking water on priority to residents of the area and urged them to cooperate in maintaining and proper utilisation of these facilities.

Nawang Rigzin Jora, MLA said that whichever government is in power their aim is to keep Ladakh ahead of any politics and work in unity to address the problems of people of Ladakh and strive to make their life easy and convenient.

Phunchok Wangdan, Councilor, Lower Leh expressed gratitude to the Council for the park and urged them to complete the remaining part with the sanction of the required fund as early possible.
