Principal Secretary reviews work progress of connecting Nubra with Northern Grid

Principal Secretary Planning & Development Union Territory of Ladakh Dr. Pawan Kotwal reviewed the progress of work under PMDP-15 for connecting Nubra with Northern Grid by laying 77.60 KM of 220 KV Transmission Line from Leh to DIskit, Nubra, including 220/33 KV GIS sub-station Diskit.

He also reviewed the progress for getting clearances from Wildlife and other agencies.

Secretary Power Development Department UT Ladakh appraised that the Department has already uploaded the application for NOC on Parivesh Portal from Wildlife board and requested for an early conduct of the UT level wildlife board meeting.

The representative from REC PDCL (the PIA of the project) appraised the meeting that works are going on at some places, where there is no any wildlife and other ROW issues and informed that out of 255 towers 09 tower foundations have been completed and work at GIS substation is in progress.

The representative of REC also informed the meeting that clearances from Army have been received and formal NOC from the Airforce, will be issued by IAF Western Command, New Delhi.

Principal Secretary Planning & Development assured that the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor will conduct a wildlife board meeting very soon.
