Police-Public interaction meeting held at Khaltse Women in distress can avail women help desk service established at all police stations without any hesitation: SSP, PD Nitya

District Police Leh conducted a Police-Public interaction meeting at Police post-Khaltse on January 14. The meeting was chaired by SSP Leh, PD Nitya IPS.

DySP Hqr Leh, Subdivision officers, SDM, BMO,  Tehsildar, and I/C PP Khaltse, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Nambardars, Women alliance members, and many others were present.

Various issues of public importance related to police and civil administration were highlighted. SSP Leh assured that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority and every possible help will be provided to the people of the area and issues related to civil administration will be taken up with concerned departments for their early redressal. She sought cooperation from the participants in maintaining peace & stability in the area, besides eradicating various social evils especially drug menace, crime against women and children, and other social crimes emerging in the society.

She also urged women to use the service of women help desks established at all police stations and police posts of Leh exclusively for the women in distress and use dial 112 for lodging any complaint without any hesitation.

The participants were also sensitized about the spike of Covid-19 cases in the district and were requested to spread awareness among masses to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

The participants in the meeting especially women members expressed their gratitude and appreciation to SSP Leh for conducting a police-public interaction meeting at Khaltse Sub-division and assured their full cooperation to district police Leh in tackling social evils.

Later, SSP Leh checked the screening point at Khaltse TCP and directed the concerned officer/officials from police and civil administration to effectively conduct the screening of passengers and drivers to contain further spread of Covid 19 cases.
