Parliamentary Standing Committee reviews prospects of urban development in UT Ladakh

The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on Urban Development headed by Chairman, Jagdambika Pal, MP Lok Sabha, visited Leh and reviewed the prospects and aspects of urban development in UT Ladakh on August 25.

Besides officers of UT administration, the PSC held a meeting with the representatives of LAHDC, Leh, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Department of Financial Services, Municipal Committee of Leh and Kargil, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC), Central Public Works Department (CPWD), National Housing Bank (NHB), State Bank of India (SBI), Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Bank of India (BoI) among others.

The meeting deliberated on various subjects, including Atal Mission Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Swachh Bharat Mission- Urban (SBM-U), PMSAVNidhi, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), DAY-NULM and functioning of Central Public Works Department (CPWD).

Chairman/ CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson briefed about the action taken by the Hill Council for implementation of the projects and highlighted the difficulties faced by them. 

Principal Secretary, Dr Pawan Kotwal; Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Ajeet Kumar Sahu also attended the meeting and submitted the status of developmental projects in UT Ladakh.
