CEC, Kargil discuss health, education, social and tribal affairs issues with UT administration

Feroz Ahmad Khan, CEC Kargil discussed various issues related to health, education, social and tribal affairs with Commissioner Secretary Health, Rigzin Samphel, and Commissioner Secretary, School Education, Social and Tribal Welfare, Ajeet Kumar Sahu via video conference on September 19.

Various issues related to COVID-19 mitigation measures in Kargil district including expediting the establishment of an oxygen plant in Kargil, augmentation of oxygen cylinders at Zanskar, approval for the outsourcing of kitchen at dedicated COVID-19 Hospital Kargil, issuance of interview dates for the deployment of 120 paramedical staff were discussed.

Rigzin Samphel informed that the oxygen plant set up is in the last phase while the procurement of imported machinery will be completed in the next 60 days. 

He also assured that the human resource requirement of COVID-19 Dedicated Hospital Kargil will be addressed on priority.

Discussion on the functioning of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, reopening of schools, the conduct of examinations, residential schools for children with special needs, land identification for old age homes, the establishment of girls hostels, conversion of 4 higher secondary schools into Kendriya Vidayalayas, 1 higher secondary school into Sainik school, issues related to RRETs, rationalization of staff, pending SRO 43 cases, SRO 202, adjustment of promoted lecturers, scholarship issues and related matters were carried out.

Various other issues with regard to the Social Welfare Department and ICDS were also discussed during the meeting. 

Ajeet Kumar Sahu informed that the UT Administration is intending to open schools informally from September 22 onwards. He urged the CEC to identify and allot land for construction of girls hostel, old age home, and residential school for children with special needs.
 
He further assured that all-important issues would be resolved with due consultations with the LAHDC, Kargil. 

Director, Health Services, Dr. Phuntsog Angchuk; Director School Education, Muhammad Mumtaz Ali; CMO Kargil, CEO Kargil and Executive Engineer Mechanical Division, Kargil also attended the meeting.
