Over 300 students participate in Tobacco awareness program in Kargil

The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC/NTCP) Kargil organized an awareness program titled “Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0” on October 11 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Kargil. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 300 students and staff members.

Masood Ahmad, District Consultant, DTCC Kargil, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco. He urged students to become ambassadors of a tobacco-free society, spreading awareness through social media and short reels, and emphasized the collective responsibility of making Kargil a tobacco-free district.

Lt. Mohmad Hussain, Vice Principal of the host school, spoke about the dangers of drug and substance abuse, motivating students to make healthy lifestyle choices for a brighter future.

Mohmad Abbas, Physical Education Lecturer appreciated NTCP Kargil for its sustained efforts in promoting a healthier and tobacco-free community.

The campaign is part of the district’s ongoing initiatives to educate youth, prevent tobacco use, and foster a culture of health awareness among students.
