Under Operation Sadbhavana, a 10 KVA solar power plant was constructed and formally handed over to Khakted village in the Changthang region of Ladakh on December 24. The initiative was undertaken by the Indian Army in close collaboration with the civil administration, reinforcing efforts to promote sustainable development in remote border areas.

The solar power project aims to enhance access to reliable electricity for the villagers while supporting clean and renewable energy solutions. Through such sustainable initiatives, the Indian Army continues to empower local communities, improve access to essential services, and strengthen the spirit of nation-building in strategically important and remote regions.

On the occasion, former Councillor Konchok Stanzin expressed gratitude to the Trishul Division of 14 Corps for upgrading the existing solar power infrastructure by adding an additional 10 KVA capacity. The plant was handed over to the villagers in the presence of the village head (Nambardar) and other local representatives.

He said that such initiatives not only address critical local needs but also further strengthen civil–military relations, fostering mutual trust and cooperation between the Army and the local population.
