Oilseed cultivation training held for farmers in Sakti
A training camp on oilseed cultivation under the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oilseeds (NMEO-OS) as part of Krishi Unnati was conducted on February 21 at Sakti village in Kharu Sub-Division, Leh.
The programme, organised by the Agriculture Department, aimed to educate farmers on best practices for cultivating mustard as an oilseed crop.
The training was led by Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Mohd Ramzan, Agriculture Extension Officer, Kharu, Kunzang Dolma, Junior Agriculture Extension Officer Stanzin Idong, and Dr. Kunzang Lamo.
In addition to oilseed cultivation, the programme covered various modern agricultural techniques. Topics included the package of practices for the Ladakh Greenhouse, preparation of vermicompost, mushroom cultivation, natural farming, and organic farming. Farmers were also informed about various departmental schemes available to support and strengthen their agricultural activities.
