NTPC to launch Hydrogen fuel cell-based bus/vehicle project in Leh

Leh :

A team of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) met Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Leh Advocate Tashi Gyalson on January 27 to discuss the signing of MoU with LAHDC, Leh to launch a pilot project on Hydrogen fuel cell-based bus/vehicle project for passenger transportation in Leh.
 
Deputy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk; Under Secretary, Power, UT Ladakh, Ashwani Hansa; Project Director, LREDA, Dr. Tsewang Thinlas; Subir Karma, Rahul Patabala, and Ritwick Goash of NTPC were present in the meeting.
 
CEC Gyalson welcomed the pilot project in Leh and said that LAHDC Leh is very keen to switch towards renewable energy in line with Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to make UT Ladakh a carbon-neutral region. He assured to extend all possible assistance and help from LAHDC Leh to NTPC in the successful implementation of the pilot project. 
 
He further requested NTPC to bring more clarity in the proposed draft of the MoU mentioning the share and equity of LAHDC, Leh, and future action plan of NTPC in Leh.
