Leh :

Labourers arriving in Leh either from road or by air must have a negative RT-PCR test report not older than 96 hours before they arrive in Leh.

The notice was issued by the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Leh on April 19. The Department has warned that labourers who arrive in Leh without any Covid-19 test report would be turned back from Leh at the cost of the contractor/mate/employer from the points of entry at Upshi and KBR Airport.

Only labourers with a negative COVID-19 test report would be allowed to work in Leh.

The Department has also threatened to initiate action against defaulters (contractor/mate/employer) for non-compliance with the order.

The number of Covid-19 cases in Ladakh has increased exponentially in the last few days due to the arrival of tourists and labourers.
