National Unity Day: CEC Feroz Khan flags off marathon ‘Run for Unity’

Commemorating National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas), Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan flagged off Run for Unity from Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Biamathang Kargil on October 31.

Executive Councillor, Mohsin Ali; EC Er Punchok Tashi; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve; SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Choudhary; District Officers, Sectorial heads, and students participated.

Earlier, CEC took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge and reiterated the commitment to preserve the unity, integrity, and security of the nation besides striving hard to spread the message among other fellow countrymen.

Khan also explained the importance of the day and briefed about the contribution of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. He said that Sardar Patel is known as the Iron man of India and he was one the prominent leaders during the struggle for Independence and played a leading role in unifying post-independent India.

CEC said that the celebration makes everyone aware of ideas of strength and diversity of religions, languages, cultures, and traditions of the country.

DC Kargil paid rich tributes to Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birth anniversary by remembering his extraordinary services for keeping India united.
