National Lok Adalat in Leh settles 331 cases

A total of 331 cases were disposed of by the four benches during the National Lok Adalat held at the District Court Complex, Leh on July 10.

The four benches took up 356 cases and resolved 331 cases related to the Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT), bank, matrimonial, civil, criminal compoundable cases, labour disputes, electricity matters, traffic challans and MC Act. 

The benches imposed a fine on the defaulters and collected Rs 2,75,800 whereas the settlement amount was Rs 1,03,60,436. 

The four benches comprised Principal District and Session Judge, Deepak Sethi; President, Bar Association Leh, Mohammad Shafi; Chief Judicial Magistrate, Leh, Spalzes Angmo; Secretary Bar Association, Leh, Deachen Angmo; Sub Judge Leh, Phuntsog Andmo, Munsiff,  Nubra, Wangail Tsering; Munsiff, Khaltse, Chhemit Yourgail and Tehsildar, Khaltse, Tanveer Ahmad.
