National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa and NIPER Hyderabad sign MOU for academic and research collaboration

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa in Leh and the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad, on January 19 at NIPER, Hyderabad.
 
The primary objective of the MOU is to foster and promote academic and research collaborations, facilitate faculty and student exchanges, develop teaching programs, and propose initiatives to preserve, promote, and advance the Sowa-Rigpa System of Medicine. The partnership aims to establish high standards in teaching, training, and research, integrating a scientific approach into the understanding of Sowa-Rigpa.

The MOU, signed by Dr. Padma Gurmet, Director of the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh, and Prof. Shailendra Saraf, Director of NIPER, will provide opportunities for faculty exchange and collaboration. The institutions plan to identify need-based, demand-driven, and sustainable education programs to be delivered through various modes, including e-learning, distance education, and traditional methods.

NIPER Hyderabad will contribute by offering training in research techniques in Molecular Biology, Neurosciences, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Bio-analytical studies, medical devices, and related areas. Additionally, BSRMS students at NISR will have the opportunity to undertake electives at NIPER Hyderabad.

In turn, NISR will support research activities at NIPER Hyderabad by providing clinical material, Materia Medica-Plant Kingdom, Metal, Mineral, and Animal Kingdom, Therapeutic principles, External and Rejuvenation Therapy, and samples, thus enhancing the collaborative partnership between the two institutions.
