MP Ladakh chairs DISHA meeting in Kargil Reviews progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes

Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal chaired the 4th Quarter District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil on January 19.

The meeting aimed to assess the strides made under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes within the district.

District Level DISHA Committee, including Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse and heads of various departments, agencies, stakeholders, NGOs, and other concerned officers attended the meeting. 

MP Namgyal inquired the progress under Beneficiaries Oriented Centrally Sponsored Schemes such as PM-VISHVAKARMA, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), MGNEREGA, SBM, PMAY-Urban and Rural, NHM, Poshan Abhiyaan, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), PMGKAY, PM UJWALA, National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Family Benefit Schemes, NHM, Status of JJM, PMKKKY, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, and others.

During the meeting, MP Ladakh instructed Industrial Promotion Officer, Kargil to introduce various trades tailored to Ladakh's context. He also stressed on implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. He sought updates on the action taken report from the previous DISHA Meeting, along with the latest physical and financial progress reports for each programme/scheme.

He directed CMO Kargil to promote the empanelled hospital list on social media for Ayushman Bharat Golden Card beneficiaries.

He also inquired about the newly sanctioned roads under PMGSY, the implementation of labour welfare schemes and asked the concerned to distribute compensation through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for NHIDCL packages.

MP Ladakh underlined the importance of the DISHA meeting for effectively redressing people’s grievances and issues of the concerned departments. He stressed that officers to ensure the completion of various centrally sponsored projects and schemes within the stipulated timelines and to avoid delays to prevent cost escalation.

All the sectoral heads of the respective departments were asked to hold awareness camps at various villages in coordination with the DISHA Committee and PRI members so that people get benefit of the centrally sponsored schemes.

Earlier, Chief Planning Officer, Kargil, in the presence of MP Namgyal through powerpoint presentation presented various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and their achievements.
