MIMC distributes relief kit to the needy

Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre organised Deepawali Celebration Kits Distribution Function on 17 November at the Cultural Hall, MIMC Campus, Leh.

The Deepawali kits have been sponsored by Mukul Madhav Foundation, Pune (Maharashtra), and endeavored by Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder-President & Spiritual Director, MIMC, Leh.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh, Sonam Chosjor was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Director Tibetan Children's Village, Choglamsar Chemet Lundup was the Guest of Honour.

The function was inaugurated by the Chief Guest ADC Leh, Sonam Chosjor in presence of Chimet Lundup, Director Tibetan Children's Village; President PAGIR, Leh, and the Administrator, MIMC. Leh, Ven. Jinananda.

A total of 500 economically very poor families, belonging to the far-flung and remote villages of Ladakh will be provided a relief kit each, containing rice, atta, edible oil, tea packet, salt packet, sugar packet, dal packet, and milk packets, etc.

During the function, 30 kits were handed over to the President, PAGIR for the differently-abled inmates of PAGIR and 70 kits to the Tibetan Old Age Home, Choglamsar, Leh.

The rest of the beneficiaries will be handed over the Deepawali Celebration Kits by the staff of MIMC by travelling to the backward and far-flung villages of Ladakh in the next couple of days.
