A meeting with representatives of various recognised political parties was convened at the Municipality Office, Leh, on October 6 in connection with the revision of the Municipal Electoral Rolls.

The meeting was chaired by Atul Singh Mankotia, JKAS, Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Leh. Both Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) were also present.

During the meeting, representatives of the recognised political parties were apprised of the schedule for revision of the Municipal Electoral Rolls and the activities to be undertaken as per the notified timeline. The list of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for the respective wards was also shared with the representatives.

The political party representatives were requested to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for their respective wards in accordance with the applicable provisions, to facilitate effective participation and coordination throughout the revision process.

The ERO called upon all stakeholders to extend their cooperation in ensuring a smooth, transparent and inclusive revision of the Municipal Electoral Rolls and to facilitate eligible citizens in getting enrolled.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on coordinated efforts by all stakeholders for the successful completion of the revision process within the notified timeline.
