Meeting on Smart City Mission held in Kargil

Team Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC) Smart City Mission Ladakh discussed the implementation of Smart City Mission in the Kargil district during a meeting at the conference hall on April 12.

Rupayan Dutta, team member PWC detailed various aspects and features of a smart city which includes integrated traffic and transport management system, multi-tier car parking and bus stand, development of truck terminal, improvement and widening of circular Kargil road, pedestrian safety, infrastructure promotion, street furniture, foot universal design, addressing traffic jam, provisions for smart e-vehicles, e-buses and e-bikes besides other facilities.
All the stakeholders gave their feedback and suggestions regarding the possible challenges that may occur during the execution of the smart city project in the district.

Appreciating feedback in the meeting Dutta assured that all valuable suggestions will be included in the final plan and will be reflected in the DPR of the project. 

She said that in the future more meetings will be held with all the stakeholders regarding features of the project and start implementation on the ground level.

Councilor Town Haji Abass; Executive Engineer R&B II, PHE, PDD, I&FC, Assistant Director Tourism, ARTO Kargil, ward members of Municipal Committee Kargil besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
