MC Kargil organizes rally for Single Use Plastic ban

Kargil :

Municipal Committee (MC) Kargil organised a rally for the Single-Use Plastic ban from Bus Stand to Lal Chowk Market, Kargil on September 27.
 
The march aimed to make people aware of the demerits of plastic and polythene use. 
 
Executive Officer, MC Kargil, Muhammad Salim Wazir said plastic use is an environmental hazard as it is non-biodegradable and pollutes the environment.
 
He spoke with various shopkeepers of Kargil's main market and directed them to stop plastic and polythene use. He also directed them not to pack food items in plastic bags.
 
MC Kargil proclaimed to the general public to stop using plastic and polythene. They said if any shopkeeper or anyone from the general public is found using plastic or polythene will be punished or face a penalty. They directed shopkeepers to put the daily waste and garbage into the garbage carrying trucks/vehicles of the MC.
 
The list of banned items includes earbuds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice-cream sticks, plastic plates, cups, glasses, spoons, and polythene bags.
