The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Eliezer Joldan Memorial (EJM) College Leh, organised an academic field visit to All India Radio (AIR) Leh and Doordarshan Leh on May 8.

A group of 32 students participated in the visit, which aimed to provide practical exposure to the functioning of radio and television broadcasting.

During the visit, students were given a detailed overview of the functioning of studios, newsrooms, recording units, editing sections, and transmission processes. The students also interacted with media professionals and gained valuable insights into the practical aspects of radio and television journalism.

The visit was supervised by IIS Khurshed Yusuf, Head of Regional News Unit (RNU), AIR Leh. HoD Mass Communication and Journalism, Hajira Bano, and Assistant Professor Qazi Shetaz Arif accompanied the students during the educational tour.

The faculty members expressed gratitude to the officials and staff of AIR Leh and Doordarshan Leh for their cooperation and for providing the students with an informative and enriching learning experience.

The students described the visit as highly educational and beneficial in understanding the real working environment of broadcast media.
