Market checking squad recovers ₹30,000 fine from defaulters in Padum

13 food business operators were fined and an amount of ₹30,000 was recovered during a surprise checking of the market by the Food Safety department on June 1 at Padum.

More than 700 kg of expired food items were also destroyed.

The team inspected shops selling food items such as vegetables, fruits, meat, chicken, dairy products, and packaged foods. The market checking squad also warned shopkeepers against selling adulterated or substandard food products and informed them about the penalties for such activities.

During the inspection, the team also emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the shops.
