Market checking squad imposes ₹8000 fine on defaulters in Padum

Zanskar :

A team of Government officers and officials headed by Naib Tehsildar Zanskar, Ibrahim Khan conducted a market check in the main market Padum and its adjoining areas on May 9. 

General stores, restaurants, Dabas, vegetable sellers, and chicken sellers were checked. 1 quintal of rotten chicken, 1 and a half quintals of rotten vegetables, around 30 kg of rotten fruits, and expired grocery items from general stores were seized.

An amount of ₹8000 was collected as a fine from the defaulters.

The market checking team also imposed fines on the restaurants and Dabas owners who were using domestic cylinders. They were instructed to keep their restaurants neat and clean. In the end, the team disposed of the seized food items and chickens.

The team comprised the Block Medical Officer, officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Animal Husbandry Department, and Police.
