A team of government officers and officials headed by Naib Tehsildar Zanskar, Mohd Hassan conducted market checking in the main market Padum, Zanskar, and its adjoining areas on September 18.

During the checking, general stores, restaurants, dhabas, vegetable, meat, and chicken sellers were checked. The team inspected the hygiene and cleanliness of restaurants and dhabas.

An amount of ₹5,600 was collected as a fine from the defaulters. They were instructed to keep their restaurants neat and clean. 

The team comprised SHO Zanskar and the team, officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), and others.
