Leh witnesses massive campaign on 'Swachta hi Sewa'

Commemorating 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a daylong ‘Shramdhan Programme’ under Swachhta hi Sewa was held at Solid Resource Management Centre, Solar Colony on October 2. 
 
The programme was carried out by the officers of District Administration headed by Moses Kunzang, Additional District Development Commissioner, Leh. The aim was to appeal the people to be a part of this movement and strengthen the effort to create ‘Swachh Bharat’.
 
Students of Bhartiya Vidya Niketan school under the supervision of district officers carried out a massive cleanliness drive within the vicinity of Choglamsar bazaar.
 
Solid Resource Management Centre under the banner 'Tsangda Project' was established in December 2018 at Solar Colony Choglamsar on trial bases. 

The initiative was taken by District Administration headed by Avny Lavasa, Former DC, Leh and supported by LAHDC, Leh. After the success of the project, few more Tsangda projects were replicated at places like Nimmo, Diskit, Khaltse, Pangong lake, etc which has extensively helped in keeping the area neat and clean by managing solid wastes on segregation way. 
 
Rural Development Department has been playing a key role in successfully running all the Tsangda Project.
