Leh Municipality launches sanitation drive

The Leh Municipality in collaboration with District Administration and Leh Development authority has launched a weeklong special sanitation drive engaging workers on 11 March. 

The activities planned under the drive include cleaning of every nallahs, irrigation khuls, streets, water tanks, and important tourist areas in the next one week.

The aim of the cleanliness drive is to make Leh district neat and clean and to create a sense of responsibility on cleanliness among the people.

“On the first day, the staff of LDA and MC, Leh and volunteers of District Motor Garages cleaned respective areas of District Motor Garages and Council Secretariat”, said Dr. Zaida, CEO, Leh Development authority.

She further appealed the people from all walks of life to be a part of this cleanliness drive and take responsibility for keeping their villages and mohallas clean on a daily basis and to cooperate with Municipal Committee, Leh to for healthy lifestyle in the society.

The department has distributed dustbins recently to every household in the town area.
