Leh government employees demand SDA in 7th Pay Commission

A delegation of All Ladakh Central Employees Association under the leadership of  Minister for Cooperatives Chering Dorjey called upon the Governor of J&K, N N Vohra at Raj Bhawan Srinagar on May 17.

The delegation appraised the recommendation of the Governor for the inclusion of Special Duty Allowances to Central Government employees posted in Ladakh region, keeping in view the topographical and climatic condition of Ladakh in the 7th Pay Commission. 

He assured the delegation for taking up the matter with the Cabinet Secretary, who is also the Chairman of the Empowered Committee.

Later, the delegation under the leadership of Sonam Morup called upon the Chairman J&K Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali and apprised about the same issue and urged upon him to take up the matter with the Center Government.

Haji Anayat Ali assured the delegation that he will take up the matter with the Cabinet Secretary so that the issue may be redressed before the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.

The delegation comprises of Secretary of the Association Sonam Morup, representatives of Kargil, Mohammad Hassan Askari and Leh, Sonam Wangchuk.
