Leh DC reviews progress on Jamabandi for land records digitization

Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve reviewed the progress on Jamabandi in Leh district under the Revenue Department on January 12.

In a previous decision, it was decided to collect Jamabandi records taking August 2021 as a reference point, aiming for land record digitization. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner chaired the review meeting to take stock of the progress made.

The Deputy Commissioner took a Tehsil-wise detailed review of the progress made in Jamabandi records. The concerned Sub Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars gave detailed reports on the progress made and issues in the remaining villages.

The ACR informed that 40 villages have not submitted the Jamabandi records of which the Deputy Commissioner took the case to case review. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the pending cases in Swamitwa to ensure the distribution of property cards by the end of March this year.

He further directed the concerned officers to closely monitor the encroachment of land in the district.

Regarding the meeting agenda, he directed to complete the Jamabandi process on the given deadline.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Leh, Shabbir Hussain, Sub Divisional Magistrates of Likir, Nubra, Nyoma, Khaltse, and Durbuk, and all Tehsildars of Leh district joined virtually. While, SDM Kharu, Gurmet Namgyal, and Tehsildar Leh, Dorjey Gyaltsan attended physically.
