Lamdon Model School, Thiksay, celebrates Parents' Day

Lamdon Model School Thiksay enthusiastically celebrated Parents day onNovember  8. 

H.E Thiksay Khampo Rinpoche Nawang Chamba Stanzin Gyatso was the chief guest on the occasion. Rinpoche thanking the villagers and committee members said the success of the school is all because of their hard work. He urged people to foster their work for upliftment and development of the school.

Talking about the importance of moral education, Lamdon Model Senior Secondary school Leh, Principal Eshey Tundup said, "School is a temple where students learn morality and goodness.” He further added that in near future, teachers will be provided workshops and training on modern education through which students can benefit from new teachings methods.

Headmistress Tsetan Angmo gave a brief introduction about Lamdon School Thiksay and informed 100% pass percentage in 2016 annual examination. 

The school was established in 1989 with 13 students and two teachers and at present the school has a residential hostel with 14 rooms and 60 hostlers.  It also provides sponsors to financially weak students. 

Fashion show on Ladakhi culture was the main highlight of the event and the students were felicitated with prizes for the literary, co- curricular activity and academic achievements.
