Ladakh Students' Eco-cultural Saver, Leh, carries out cleanliness drive

One-day cleanliness drive on the theme Swachh Ladakh Abhiyan was organised by Ladakh Student’s Eco-cultural Saver Leh on May 8.
The cleanliness drive was flagged off by LBA President, Tsewang Thinles from Leh Chowkhang and was carried out around the city of Leh market. 

They cleaned many places which include Changspa, Main Market, Bus Station, Skalzangling and concluded at Indoor Stadium, Leh where cultural programme was also organised.

CEC, Dr. Sonam Dawa was the chief guest of the occasion and Upper Leh councillor Gen Lobzang Nyantak was also present.
Inspired by their efforts CEC Dr Dawa said, "If the national project of Swachh Bharat is implemented by you than there is a big responsibility on us to encourage the work for better result", he added.

He assured every possible help from Hill Council and will assist them in terms of fund from the next general council meeting and urged the President to spread this awareness and include all the school till next year. He informed that the amount of ₹ 50,000 which was pending last year will be handover to them soon. 

Stanzin Thardot, President of association said that  the association was formed by few head girl and head boys of schools with a  good vision and today 15 schools join this association and ever since from its formation they organised several rallies and it’s the second time they are cleaning Leh. 

Ladakh Student’s Eco-cultural saver is going to organise the tournament of Basketball in the coming days.
