Ladakh Scout Regimental Centre celebrates passing out parade

Ladakh Scout Regimental Centre, Phyang showcased the fresh batch of 72 recruits of 49 Corps on 28th November, Saturday. The event was graced by Lt. Gen S K Patyal, SM, GOC, 14 CORPS, civil and service dignitaries and parents of the recruits. 

The seventy-two passing out recruits took the oath for ‘Dedicating their lives in the service of the nation.’ Marching shoulder to shoulder on the parade ground, the recruits began their life of a young army man, was a moment of pride and inspiration to everyone.

Lt. Gen S K Patyal in his speech congratulated all the 72 recruits in the completion of the drill and training. He states that no enemy has enough courage to look on Ladakh region because of the brave soldiers of the Ladakh scouts who are guarding the frontiers. He urged the entire pass out batch to work and serve dedicatedly as a young army man.

The 72 young soldiers were trained in basic Hindi language, basic military training for 19 weeks including basic principles of military life along with physical training, drill and weapon training. For 15 weeks advance military training was imparted to them making them proficient in rock climbing, firing, weapon training, field engineering, map reading, navigation and many more. 

For the outstanding performance during the training, Recruits Sonam Gyaltson, Paldan Gombo, Parade Commander, Recruit Stanzin Norgais, Instructor, Rifleman, Ibrahim Ali and champion company were awarded. Gaurav Padak was also presented to the parents of the young soldiers who have dedicated their son in the service of the nation.
