Ladakh Amchi Sabha demands recognition of Sowa-Rigpa in J&K

A meeting for the recognition of Sowa –Rigpa in Jammu And Kashmir State was convened by Ladakh Amchi Sabha at their office on December 22 in Leh.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Padma Gurmet, President, Ladakh Amchi Sabha and all the general body members were present.

A memorandum for recognition of Sowa-Rigpa in J&K was given to Dr. Nirmal Singh Dy. Chief Minister, J&K on December 18.

Nirmal Singh, Dy. Chief Minister assured to introduce the Bill to recognize Sowa-Rigpa in the coming assembly session.

Accordingly, the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has approved the draft Jammu and Kashmir Ayurveda and Unani Practitioners (Amendment Bill) 2017 in its cabinet meeting on December 21 to accommodate Sowa-Rigpa.

For the pursuance of Cabinet approval, members expressed gratitude to Dr. Nirmal Singh, Dy. Chief Minister, Chering Dorje Minister Cooperative and Ladakh Affairs and Dr. Padma Gurmet and the entire Cabinet.

It was a long time demand of Ladakh Amchi Sabha to get recognition of Sowa-Rigpa in J&K.
 
The member also appealed all the elected members of Ladakh to support the Bill, when introducing in the next assembly session.
