Ladakh Administration sanctions ₹2.50 crore to clear expenses incurred during evacuation process , Kargil CEC, Hill Council, Kargil discuss payment modalities to reimburse all evacuees

Kargil :

Ladakh Administration released ₹2.50 crore to Kargil district to meet all the expenses incurred during the evacuation process.

Feroz Ahmad Khan, CEC, Hill Council Kargil convened a meeting with the Finance Department and officers associated with the evacuation process on July 15 at Council Secretariat. 

Discussion on the modalities for reimbursing students, patients, and residents who were evacuated to Kargil from different parts of the country during the COVID-19 pandemic was held. 

Also, payment to be made for the additional expenditures incurred during the evacuation process was discussed.

Feroz Ahmed Khan expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor, Radha Krishna Mathur for sanctioning ₹2.50 crores for Kargil District to clear the pending payments incurred during the evacuation process.

Apart from reimbursing students, patients and residents who had travelled on their expenses to the district, concerned officers informed about the payments to SRTC Leh, Bus Operators of Kargil, Leh, Srinagar, and Jammu; Kargil House, Jammu; Kargil Boys Hostel, Channi Himmat, Jammu; Kargil House, Srinagar and Government facilities and hotels at Sonamarg.

Feroz Ahmed Khan instructed the officers to check and verify all details of evacuees and other related details available till date. He asked them to collect and compile the left-out data for timely payments.

It was decided that the payment of claims to only those evacuees would be considered who travelled to the district through the concerned Liaison Officers appointed in different states of the country till the conclusion of the evacuation process up to 23rd May 2020.

Feroz Ahmed Khan directed officers to make full payment in favour of the evacuees on the production of vouchers. 

Evacuees who have travelled through buses can submit their payment claims for reimbursement along with the copies of the vouchers and photocopies of Aadhar Card and Bank Passbook to the Facilitation Officer/ AD Fisheries Kargil, Murtaza Ali in the prescribed format available at his office up to 31st July 2020. No claims will be accepted after the expiry of the cut-off date.
